John W. Gast Memorial Recreation Trail

The Township Board has approved a grant application to the DNR for funding 50% of the proposed trail from the City/High School to the park and the 50% match from Township funds. This trail will provide safer access for cyclists and walkers to the park. It will also allow walkability from Bridgman and students using the recreational athletic fields and other amenities at the park. The grant decision will be made the fall of 2022 with the trail being built in the fall for 2023. The trail will be named after John Gast for all his service to Lake Township and our wonderful park.

Pavilion Rentals

The park has three pavilions available to the public for rental. They offer a great place to hold graduation parties, family reunions or gatherings, or group picnics and gatherings. New sidewalks have been installed for improved handicap accessibility. See pictures of each pavilion on the Calendars page.

North Pavilion - The north pavilion has handicap accessibility also but is further from rest room facilities. It offers a volley ball court during the summer months. It does not have water or sinks but has a kitchen/serving area.

South Pavilion - This pavilion is located closest to the rest rooms and softball fields. A sidewalk was installed in 2014 to allow easy handicap accessibility and access to the rest rooms. The pavilion does not have water or sinks but has a kitchen/serving area.

Lake Pavilion - The Lake pavilion is the newest addition and overlooks the pond in the back portion of the park. There is a gazebo and playground equipment located nearby. The pavilion has rest rooms attached and water and sinks in the kitchen area.
