The new fees can be found under the Building/Zoning page. Absentee Voter Letter - There are changes in the law regarding absentee ballots. Please click here to view the changes. Water Rate Increase - Due to the increasing cost of water processing and infrastructure costs, the Township Board has approved a water rate increase effective February 1st, 2023 of 5%. It will be applied to the first set of monthly bills going out in February and applied to the first set of quarterly bills going out in April. Lake Township prides itself on providing great quality water at very reasonable prices. We continue to do large improvement projects and upgrades to assure we can provide a quality water supply for many years to come. The quarterly cost for an in-Township resident will be $33.08 or $11.02 per month (approximately $.37/day) for the minimum usage of 10,000 gallons. The quarterly cost for an out-of-township resident will be $49.70 or $16.57 per month (approximately $.55/day) for the minimum usage of 10,000 gallons. A rate study was conducted by an independent company and actually recommended a higher increase than the 5% that was approved. We understand these are trying times for many and kept increases to a minimum. Our rates are still at or below most neighboring communities who are also finding it necessary to make increases to water rates. Trail News - Go to the Park page to see exciting news about a proposed trail to the park to be named after John Gast for his many years of service to Lake Charter Township.
